SFBC Winterfest 2012
The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC) held their 17th annual Winterfest event on Sunday, December 2nd at City View on the Metreon rooftop in downtown San Francisco.
Over a thousand attendees came and enjoyed an evening of bicycle-themed art, raffle prizes, and auction items while sipping on beer from New Belgium Brewery and munching on nosh from Banh Mi Love You Long Time and others. Musical entertainment was powered by Rock the Bike.
SFBC Executive Director, Leah Shahum, gave an update on the SFBC’s progress and emphasized the challenges that still lie ahead for bicycle improvements in the city. The audience cheered whenever a successful bike lane project was featured in the slideshow. Leah closed with an expressive and sincere thank you to all the members and volunteers.
Here are some photos from the event:

The decor was bike lane-themed with a long black rug resembling a city street and table cloths resembling green bike lanes.

Leah Shahum stepped onto the stage and gave a speech. She’s happy for the progress that has been made but warns about the challenges that lie ahead. All the low hanging fruit have been picked and now the hard stuff is next. They need the community’s support more than ever.
